Tuesday, 19th May 2009 (1147 views) Researchers in Ireland are to team up with their counterparts at the Nanobiotechnology Centre (NBTC) at Cornell University in New York as part of a nanotechnology workshop.The two groups will share their expertise on producing diagnostic tools and sensors that utilise the technology - which often involves the use of gold - during a two-day event at Dublin City University next month, A to Z Nanotechnology reports. A total of six faculty members and seven postdoctoral associates and graduate students from the NBTC will work with representatives from the university and the Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials Research Institute at the University of Ulster during the conference. Research results and theories will be discussed by the two groups over the course of the meeting, which begins on June 4th. A similar event is also being organised in Paris by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and will see experts discuss the use of nanotechnology in reducing pollution.
